A short history of us
Unique, classy, luxurious
K arl gega is an engineer who fascinated the world with his construction. He was born in Junuary 10th, 1802, and is known for his famous work called Semmering's railway - a masterpiece of the human mind, which for all ages will remain associated with Gega's life.
On june 22nd, 1869m the Austrian Architects and Engineers Association inaugurated in Semmering, Austria, the monument devoted to the world's most famous mountain railroad projector and builder, one who rejected one of the main dogma of English engineering science over the impossibility of building mountain railways; Karl Gega made possible for trains to raise in a previously unprecedented altitude - about 1000 meters above the sea level.
After his death, Gega was placed in the pantheon of the most prominent people in Austria, like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Strauss, Brahms and Alois Negrell. He has also designed tens of roads, works and railroads in Austria-Hungary at that time (in Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Italy)
We are very proud that we bare Karl Gega's name, not only because of his life, but because Karl also had a very unique and particular taste in alcohol.
